On behalf of the JCTOD Inc., the Seed of Hope 12 Step Christian Support Group and the Johnson Park Center (JPC),we are inviting you our 20th Year Birthday Party Celebration which will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 @ 4 pm to 8 pm at the Johnson Park Center at 26 Johnson Park. Media can come anytime after 4:30pm. Please see attached flyer.
20 years ago, Johnson Park was considered the worst area in the City of Utica. It was full of drugs, crime, violence, murder, full of trash and debris. But Rev. Dr. Scates who is formerly chronically homeless and Army veteran, a missionary & full time volunteer, the Founder, Pastor of JCTOD, Inc., and Chief Executive Officer of Johnson Park Center (JPC) saw Johnson Park as beautiful.
On November 14, 1995, JCTOD, Inc., with a donation from a supporter became the owner of 26-Johnson Park, a dilapidated run down burned-out building, with the roof leaking, windows broken out, full of trash, a shamble and a mess, moved in the building the same day, living on the third floor having only 2 beds, a few household items and Bible School equipment. 20 years later, through God goodness, faithfulness, and strength, Johnson Park is beautiful, clean, safe and experiencing revitalization. Positive Change is happening by changing attitudes, changing the neighborhood and changing lives!!!
We invite you to come, join us, and celebrate with us on Saturday November 14, 2015 at the JCTOD, Seed of Hope, and Johnson Park Center at our 20 year Birthday Party. All activities & food is Free!
