At Johnson Park Center, we believe everyone deserves a Second Chance. In partnership with the Oneida County Workforce Investment Board, we are able to offer a wide range of services through the "Second Chance" / Re-Entry Program for ex-offenders to help them find and keep a job and ease their re-integration into the community.
The services we offer include:
In addition to these services, we also offer a series of weekly job and life skills classes that are open to the entire community (i.e. not just ex-offenders). These classes are held every Tuesday evening, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the JPC Main Office, located at 26 Johnson Park, Utica, New York. Transportation is available (please call the number below), and child care and a hot dinner are provided.
This is a program that works. After you come out of jail of prison, getting a job is not easy. But, since 2005 when we started the program, we have helped literally hundreds of people find and keep employment.
Everything is completely free of charge! Come to Johnson Park Center during Program Hours (see below) and meet with a staff member to learn more about the program.
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Job and Life Skill Classes: Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
All programs are held at 26 Johnson Park
