Johnson Park Apartments (JPA) for Homeless Women & Children Program (W&CP)

The JPC JPA W&CP is a place where women and their families can get a new start. We offer 1 to 4 bedroom apartments with a range of supportive services focused toward family reunification and the recovery process.

Eligibility
  1. Homeless, chronically homeless or at risk of homelessness
  2. Confirmed as parent/custodian of a child or children 18 years of age
  3. Diagnosis of mental health and/or dual diagnosed with substance abuse disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders
  4. Participation in Supportive Services
  5. Meet TANF/Safety Net low income eligibility requirements

Johnson Park Apartments (JPA) for Chronically Homeless Single Women (SWP)

The JPC JPA SWP will serve low-income women aged 18 years and older who are experiencing or at great-risk-of becoming chronic homeless especially those living in shelters, hotels/motels, emergency housing, the streets, jails and have difficulties/challenges in engaging in supportive services (Child(ren) are not allowed to live in this housing program). These women will have a mental health diagnosis as their primary disability. Dual-diagnosis with co-occurring disorders females will also be accepted. We offer 1 bedroom & efficiency apartments to the anticipated single women will be those capable of living independently but needing supportive services if they are to succeed in independent living, continue their personal development and integrate into the community. This population needs firm guidance to grow in these tasks, with the latitude to make mistakes without putting their housing in jeopardy. This population is one of the hardest to serve and was identified in 2008-2009 as the number one priority project by both JPC and our local Homeless Housing Assistance Continuum of Care.

Eligibility
  1. Chronically homeless women who are and have significant risk of continuous homelessness and without custody of their child(ren)
  2. Diagnosis of primary mental health and/or dual diagnosed with substance abuse disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders
  3. Willingness to participate in Supportive Services
  4. Meet Safety Net low income eligibility requirements

Our facility is conveniently and centrally located in the City of Utica in recently remodeled homes. Each family in the W&CP and single female in the SWP will have its own apartment in a beautiful and clean neighborhood. Handicapped adaptable/accessible apartments are also available.
