Green LEED Initiative
Johnson Park Center is the proud owner of affordable, “green” housing units located at 1418 West Street and 210‐212 Arthur Street in the City of Utica (“JPA V”). These units meet guidelines in accordance with the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) for Homes Program. Generally speaking, a green home is designed to be healthy, comfortable, durable, energy efficient and environmentally responsible.
Below are some of the ways the 1418 West and 210-212 Arthur Streets are “green”:
- Geo-thermal heating and cool using three closed wells at 290/270/250 ft per house
- Gut rehab (reuse-recycle-local usage)
- Solar with New York State credits. Geo-thermal pumps run by solar
- 90% of air is circulated per 24 hour day (renew air)
- Spray foam insulation created a sealed envelope
- Heat on Demand for office use
- Induction oven
- Many more features under LEED guideline
