Food Pantry
In our inner-city community, many residents live in poverty, and there is a great need for access to basic food supplies to prepare nutritious meals. At the JPC Food Pantry, we aim to meet that need. Many of our clients are the “working poor,” just trying to make ends meet. By fighting hunger and food insecurity, we provide a stepping stone to self-sufficiency.
Any person or family who is low-income can come to our Pantry. There is no referral or identification needed, and no residency requirement. The Food Pantry is located at 1402 West Street (adjacent to the JPC main building), and is open in the evenings to meet the needs of working families. During open hours, visitors can pick up a selection of nutritious staple foods. Each household may come up to twice per month, and more frequently if in a time of special need.
We are an official food distribution site registered with the Food Bank of Central New York.
Youth Feeding Program
We know that many of the young people who come to our Youth Programs are hungry and in need, so we serve a hot, nutritious meal and healthy snack each day.

Let’s Grow Community Garden
On the property that at one time only knew of violence and crime, the Let’s Grow Community Garden now resides. This garden helps teach the young and older alike how to plant and grow fruits and vegetables. The children are able to learn about good food and nutrition by seeing them first hand.
